2014 FOOTBALL CAMPS

HEAD COACH JAMES SPADY James Spady enters his first season on "The Hill" as head football coach. He comes to AAMU after four successful seasons as Tight Ends coach at the University of Nevada. In Reno, he mentored the Tight Ends to both Conference and National Accolades. Spady has won a championship at every school he has coached (five) throughout his career. Spady is no stranger to the SWAC and HBCU football. His career includes stops at Grambling as Offensive Coordinator (2007-2009) where his offenses were among the best in the SWAC and multiple players set school records and received post season awards. He has also served as Offensive Line Coach at both North Carolina Central (2006) and South Carolina State (2004-2005). Spady spent ten years coaching at his alma mater, The University of Texas at El Paso. He coached the Defensive Line from 2000-2003, the Tight Ends from 1996-1999 and was a Graduate Assistant from 19931995. During that time, he also participated in the NFL’s Minority Internship Program with the Green Bay Packers in 1997 and the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999. Spady was a four year starter at center for the Miners, garnering two First Team All-WAC awards. He played three seasons in the AFL with the Denver Dynamite and the Sacramento Attack.
