Selection Criteria The 2017 Emerging Leader cohort is limited to a maximum of 25 participants. We anticipate more applications than available spots so it is important to disclose our selection criteria. As candidates are evaluated, TASBO seeks to select a group that represents multiple school business disciplines across all district sizes. Content is tailored for school business officials new to a leadership role and those on a career path towards a director level position or above in the next 1‐2 years. The following will be taken into consideration as we select candidates: Application is complete (applicant has submitted the application, their supervisor’s letter of recommendation and a copy of their current resume). Strength of applicant’s written responses to writing prompts on application. Years of experience on the job. Important Information for Applicant’s Supervisor In addition to your support for the Emerging Leader’s participation in this program, TASBO requires your assistance in supporting the application of what is learned. Participants will be instructed to have a debrief meeting with you after each of the three in‐person sessions. This meeting should provide the opportunity for the Emerging Leader to disclose what was learned and discuss how they intend to apply what is learned in the workplace. TASBO will provide supervisors access to a summary video in conjunction with each in‐person event so you can gain insight into the session material and its objectives in advance of these debrief meetings.
