The Camco* type A-1 Injec on Safety Valve is designed to prevent wells from flowing back or blowing out in the event of an emergency. The A-1 will open at preset injec on flow rates†, have unlimited se ng depth and, are suitable for severely corrosive environments. These valves are available to 10,000-psi [68,950-kPa] working pressure. The A-1 prolongs the life of the valve by protecting the flapper from erosive injec on flow. The A-1 is available in a variety of materials and features an innova ve and field-proven flapper closure system. This premium flapper mechanism has full, metal-tometal sealing plus a secondary so seat, and it meets a leakage acceptance criterion that is substan ally more stringent than API and ISO specifica ons. The A-1 Injec on Safety Valve is “normally closed”, and open with differen al pressure created by the injec on flow.

OperaƟon The A-1 Series Injec on Valve with the appropriate lock and equalizing sub†† are installed in a landing nipple in the tubing string using conven onal slickline methods. Open The A-1 Series Injec on Valve opens when injec on flow reaches a predetermined rate. The spring-loaded flow tube holds the flapper open and out of the injec on stream flow path, providing an unobstructed flow bore through the inside diameter of the valve. Close The A-1 Series Injec on Valve close when injec on ceases.
