A MEMO FROM THE BCYSA ADMINISTRATOR ADELE NICHOLS

I couldn’t have been anywhere better in the world then Central Park this past Saturday and Sunday. I want to thank the community of Boone County Youth Soccer for making each soccer day a wonderful day. I have been doing this for 22 years now and I hope I do another 22. I thought I would jump into a photo on Sunday with one of our under 6 teams (that photo can be viewed in our Photo Albums online) called the Smurfs coached by Jim and Abby Owens who have been with us for several years now, they are awesome coaches. You see these children smiles every week making this all worth doing time and time again. I want to give a big shout out thank you to the parents, the awesome coaches and the administration of this soccer community. Thank you Brian Janson, Craig Melzer, Corey Nichols, Scott Nichols, Holly Nichols, and Joanna Bonds Nichols who all take part in running this fabulous league. Most important, I want to thank the awesome soccer players we have in this league who come and play their hearts out every week. To look at their faces as they play is exciting. I do not get to sit and watch many games but I do try to watch some of my granddaughters’ play, my oldest grandson played in the past, and my little Tobias will start playing in about a year or so. We have the most amazing parents, coaches, and players out there and we have a very good working relationship with the Boone County Parks Department, especially David Whitehouse. Dan Sheridan has been taking pictures of the league’s soccer players for years and he is absolutely the best there is, we have had so many families over the years compliment how much Dan loves what he is doing. It takes more time and work than people will ever realize to make this league happen each season and yes we do run into a few problems and issues along the way but to be in the park each weekend during soccer season makes me realize how fortunate I am to be part of something so great.
