ABERDEEN FATSTOCK ASSOCIATION SHOW REGULATIONS SHOW : 1. The Prizes are open to competition from all parts of the United Kingdom where all animals must have been bred. All animals must be under 30 months of age and kept on a holding in Scotland for the 90 days preceding the show date to be eligible for the event. All entries must be made on an official entry form which must be lodged with the Secretary. Entries for Prime must be lodged no later than Monday 17th November, 2014 All other entries for Bulls and Sheep must be lodged not later than Monday, 3rd November, 2014. The Committee of Management reserves the right to refuse any entry or entries and without stating any reason.
CONDITIONS OF SHOWING : 4. Male Animals must be castrated. All lambs showing hard teeth shall be disqualified. Skin must not be broken and no hard teeth showing. All animals may be subject to examination by a Veterinary Surgeon appointed by the Committee of Management. Animals suffering from any form of infectious or contagious disease must not be brought to the show. Any exhibitor infringing the Rule, shall be liable for a fine of £500 and to have their stock disqualified. WEIGHING : 6. All Cattle and Sheep to be weighed within Thainstone Centre between 8.30 am and 11.00 am on Monday, 1st December. (Exhibitors are requested to check the accuracy of the weighing). Any animals not forward for weighing at the designated times will be excluded from the show. 7.

OWNERSHIP : 3. All cattle and sheep must have been the bona fide property of exhibitors prior to 1st November. All exhibitors must be prepared to provide proof of ownership if requested by the management committee. Young Farmers Section This section is open to all full members of an affiliated Young Farmers Club, i.e. members between the age of 14 - 29 on 1st December 2014

Exhibitors of Cattle and Sheep shall send their own attendants with their stock and such attendants must be in close attendance and responsible for the care and movement of their own stock. There must be at least one attendant for every two animals. An animal will be disqualified if it is not in the ring at the correct time in accordance with the steward’s instructions.
CLASSES : 8. All Cattle Classes after weighing, will be sub-divided into a reasonably manageable Judging size. Maximum of 8 in order of increasing weight. Each sub-division to be judged as a separate class with its own class prizes. There must be a minimum of 3 entries per class for the class to go ahead. JUDGING : 9. The judging will be carried out with particular reference to quality, conformation, level of finish and maturity to reflect the characteristics of the best of prime beef animals suitable for the Scotch quality meat market. 10. Protests against animals or awards must be lodged with the Secretary in writing not later than 11 am on the day of Sale. All disputes arising out of or in connection with the show will be referred to and dealt with by the stewards in charge of each particular section. Formal protests will be dealt with by the Committee of Management or a quorum of any three of them and their decision will be final and binding. 11. Judges, Stewards and Attendants only will be allowed within the Judging Rings while judging is in progress.

SPECIAL PRIZES: 12. Animals will not be allowed to compete in more than one ordinary class but may compete for all Special Prizes for which they are eligible. All animals must compete in the ordinary classes before being allowed to compete for Special Prizes. Any animal which is eligible can compete for the Breed Society Prizes. All animals must be shown in the Judging Ring and must be halter led unless otherwise stated. CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZES: 13. No animal to compete unless it is offered for sale through the ring later. SALE OF STOCK: 14. A sale of Stock by Auction will be held in the premises commencing at 1.00 pm. The Auctioneers will be Aberdeen & Northern Marts, who will be solely responsible for all arrangements of the sale. The commission to be charged at the current rate applicable at time of sale. All cattle will be covered by the Association through the Auctioneers against the risk of condemnation on account of disease. PRIZE MONEY: 15. Full Prize Money as scheduled will be paid in all classes of Cattle and Sheep except for the Champion and Reserve Champion Animals, the Butchers’ Champion and Reserve Champion and the Young Farmers Champions and Reserve Champions, in which cases prize money will be forfeited if not sold by Auction. RISKS: 16. Exhibitors must accept all risks to their stock arising from whatever cause. The Association shall not be liable for any loss or damage which exhibits may sustain at the show or in transit, nor be liable to any exhibitor or his attendant for any loss, injury or damage sustained at the show. INFRINGEMENT: 17. Any infringement by any exhibitor or his attendant of any of the foregoing rules will result in immediate disqualification of any or all stock and the Committee of Management shall determine whether the exhibitor and/or his attendant shall be allowed to exhibit at any future show of the Association.

All cattle, after weighing will be sub-divided into suitable classes for judging purposes, subject to a minimum of 3 maximum of 8 entries per class. 5. Entry Fee £20.00 Inc VAT per Calf 6.
