ALEPPO TOWNSHIP AUTHORITY MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES APRIL 27,2017 Call to order Chairman John Siefarth called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Len Kinter, Michal Lea and Robert Ellsworth. Paula Tapia was not present. Engineer Dave Kerchner and Solicitor Chris Lovato were also present. Minutes Len Kinter made a motion to approve the minutes for March 21, 2017. Michal Lea pointed out a motion which John Siefarth voted nay was listed as a unanimous vote of yes. Nicole Harris will correct the motion records. Michal Lea seconded the motion to approve the minutes upon this change. New board member Robert Ellsworth joined the board for his first meeting since being assigned to the board. Welcome Robert! Financials Michal Lea made a motion to approve the sewer and water bill lists. Len Kinter seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Maintenance Supervisor’s Report On file Engineer’s Report On file Solicitor’s Report No report Old business Dave Kerchner reported the Authority did not receive the grants that were applied for use towards the Glenfield meter pit project and the Glen Mitchell water line replacement project. He advised the Authority should move forward with the meter pit replacement as scheduled. Michal Lea questioned if the project was budgeted for. Dave Kerchner reported it was budgeted for last year. Michal Lea made a motion to move forward with the Glenfield meter pit replacement including Bankson collecting bids. Len Kinter seconded. The motion passed unanimously. Dave Kerchner reported Sewickley sewer rates are still in discussion between the engineers.
New business Bill Davis reported the previously approved sewer line camera found multiple issues with the sewer lines on the 79N side of the Township. He will have more details of the problems and what maintenance may be required. One manhole has a 2-inch-thick buildup of an unidentified substance. Other manholes need minor attention. Bill also reported a Duquesne Light pole is on top of a sewer line and may become a problem.
Resident Lori Yost attended the meeting to inquire what the cost would be to bring water and sewer lines to lot in the township she is interested in purchasing. The engineer provided an estimated cost list for both services. Bill Davis is going to present an estimate for in house price of the project if the homeowner chooses to go that route. Michal Lea made a motion to approve the Yost family to extend the water and sewer lines to the lot if they so choose based on the engineer’s suggestions. Len Kinter seconded.
