An Inside Look at L e h m a n M e n ’s Vo l l e y b a l l : S e t To B e g i n The excitement is beginning to spread around the Lehman College campus, it’s the start of the 2004 men’s volleyball season and the Lightning are primed and ready to make a run at this year’s CUNY championship. Leading this year’s squad is 2003 CUNY all-star, Rafael Vargas. Vargas, a 6’2” sophomore out of John Adams high school, led the Lightning last season in virtually every statistical category. His 11.2 kills per contest, and his 6.2 aces per game, ranked amongst the best in the CUNY Athletic

After facing the usually tough CUNY schedule, Lehman will square off against nationally ranked schools as, SUNY New Paltz, Stevens Institute of Technology, and New Jersey City University. The Lightning will conclude the season with the CUNY tournament to be held at Hunter College, and the NECVA tournament at a site to be determined.
