Municipal AM Training - NAMS

Asset Management BC Information Sheet

NAMS – National Asset Management Strategy Asset management requires the skills of many disciplines within our work force. For existing infrastructure, the technical (operations and maintenance) and financial information must be merged together to provide a viable asset management plan. As asset management is an on-going process, there is a clear advantage in municipal staff being trained to understand the details of the ‘work’ and know both technically and financially how to update information and assess the options and scenarios. Asset Management BC determined the best training program available was developed and sponsored by IPWE of Australia. The NAMS program has been delivered in over 300 communities in Australia with great success. It now has been delivered in over 30 BC communities and over 60 in Alberta and Saskatchewan from very small communities to large cities. Feedback from our BC communities is 100% positive.
