Summary
Statement:
Naismith has provided the City with the plans and
specifications of the two Little League Baseball fields at Live Oak Park. The new constructed field will require relocation of one basket on the disc golf course, basket # 3.
This phase of the project will include the fields, parking lot, and bleachers for fans with shade. The second phase will include the concession and restroom facilities.
Construction is estimated to take 3 months from the notification to proceed. The total funding
available
from the 2015 Bond Series Fund is $ 933, 480
and
includes $ 66, 000 that
was allocated for shade structures and renovated shade structures at Live Oak Park. This phase does not include a concession stand or bathrooms. Naismith- Hanson Engineering
is preparing plans and specifications for the concession stand and bathroom. They anticipate having the plans and specifications in December.
Staff has met with the Little League Board and they would like one of the fields to be a softball field with no grass in the infield. They have a large amount of softball players
that go to surrounding areas to play. They requested that one of the fields be designated a softball thus allowing opportunities for more softball games in Ingleside. They have expressed no concern in delaying construction of the project in order to make these changes.
Recommended Action: with a change
