President- Jose Santana Vice President – Manny Avendano Jr Secretary – Karina Martinez Treasurer – Frank Laureano Baseball Director – Roger Peinado Head Team Parent – Barbara Huhn Fundraising Coordinator- Nina Forbess Snack Stand Coordinator – Hilda Marquez Equipment Manager – Jorge Castellanos Player Agent- Marco Duran
Minutes (Approval): Frank motions to approve minutes from Oct 12th. Nina Seconds. Passed
Presidents Meeting- Jose:
Wiseburn is back. There was a game issue we were having with one of our AA teams. (Jorge) at Jim Thorpe playing against another AA team an official was watching the game and the other team the coach had to pitch not player but other team (Jorge) players were pitching. Roger: are wooden bats allowed? Hilda: whatever blue says Background check: In the presidents meeting all board members need to have background check and volunteers even if working on the snack stand or fields. Have it online and not by filling out form, it should all be confidential. The bottom line is we need to protect our kids. Jose met with, Davinci, the president of Wiseburn. There will be a meeting Monday about audit. Dr. Johnstone just wants to know how we are managing our funds from now on. Estimation of $2,000 for the audit, might be cheaper or not. Our Safety office (Greg) must email Rachel about the safety program that must be turned in before season starts. We are having problem with the lights in the field but might work with AYSO as they are using the field now.
Treasurers report- Frank:
We are not nonprofit organization by December, suspended fees are $800. We are a new corporation now. Just had Secretary of State form filled and paid. Frank will call Marc and talk to him about everything else Aviation needs to do like taxes etc. No word on Dicks, the
contact information Jessica sent the person has not been reachable . Charter for next year Jose applied and will receive a packet with pin due Dec31. Snack stand reimbursements: April $550, May $1,211, and June $800. Head Team Parent report- Barbara: Will be hanging out packet to team mom and coaches of bylaws/rules and what they need to know. Fundraiser report- Nina: Handout passed out on sponsorship with comparisons to other leagues (Del Rey, El Segundo, Torrance, and Westchester) we will have as cheap as $100. Ideas-Field sponsored by let's say Honda, could be an option.
Baseball operations- Roger:
Samurai wants to do clinics with the kids in December. We should coach the coaches. Baseball company sponsoring. T shirts uniform could show the company on it like AYSO. On website want to create single A ages 5-6 specific tryouts one day each division all coaches all players show up. Meeting with coaches come to some consensus, before tryouts. Need to try out for skill level. Coach cannot tell parents not to try out. Kids benefit from different coaches.
Equipment- Jorge: Handout. New business- Jose:
3-day event fundraiser December 2-4 all Aviation will play. Darryl approved the dates for field. Schedule: Friday 5-9 pm, Sat 12-4pm, Sunday 12-4pm. The snack stand will be open would be nice if every parent could donate an item for snack stand so we won't spend so much purchasing the items compared to $500 to stock up the snack stand. All board members will work the snack stand at least 3 hours. We could do early registration those days as well. Early bird registration will be $110 as last year for month of December Frank suggest to start meeting twice a month. Discusses blue sombrero to use as our website to do online registration it's $500 set up 1st time. Jorge motions to approve the one-time payment of $500 for the website. Marco seconds all in favor. Next board meeting January 9th at 7:30 pm Jose moves to adjourn the meeting at 10:03 pm. All in favor. Motion Carried.
