Calvary Connection February 2019

Pastor’s Pen

New Bible study begins Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

For the last few weeks, we as a church have been walking through the Gospel of John in our series ‘Encountering Jesus.’ My hope and prayer is that this has been both encouraging and challenging for you. As we encounter Jesus through His Word, my hope is that we would all individually and corporately seek to help others encounter Jesus. Because of this we are starting a new discipleship class on February 6th called ‘Sharing Jesus Without Freaking Out.’ The book is about simple and practical principles to help us put into practice how to share the Gospel with others. Also, over the next few weeks we are going to roll out a new initiative called ‘Who’s Your One.’ The core of who we are and what we must be about is the Great Commission. This will be a simple strategy of every believer having ‘their one’ that they are regularly praying, serving, inviting, and sharing the Gospel with. The Law of Large Numbers is a numeric rule that simply means the larger the number sample, the more the results. How does that apply to us? The more people who are prayed for; the more people who are served; the more people who are invited; and the more people who hear the Gospel; then the greater number of people will be saved! Imagine if 100 people committed to this challenge: 100 people prayed for, served, invited, and the Gospel shared with. This challenge has the ability to make an eternal impact in our church and the life of our community. Will you be part of that impact? So be thinking, ‘Who’s Your One?’ Blessings, Jacob Guinn, Pastor
