Energy Saving Tips Clean or change furnace filters regularly. A dirty filter will slow down air flow and make the system work harder to keep you cool. Seal air leaks and properly insulate. Add caulk or weatherstripping to seal air leaks around leaky doors and windows. If you can see your floor joists in your attic, you probably need more attic insulation. Turn off all lights, appliances and electronics not in use. (Sometimes the simplest things are really effective!) — Source: Energy.gov

Co-opcurrents For Dixie Electric Cooperative Member-Owners April 2014

Coming Soon to a Mailbox Near You As we have been mentioning, your board of trustees has developed a proposed revision to your cooperative's bylaws. At the beginning of May 2014, you will be receiving a packet that contains a brochure outlining the proposed revisions, as well as a ballot for you to mark indicating whether you are for or against the revised bylaws. Your May issue of Alabama Living will contain samples of the ballot and packet so you will know what to be watching for in your mailbox. We encourage everyone to take the time to review the packet when it is received, and most importantly vote. As an incentive to encourage your participation, every member-owner who votes will receive a $5 credit on his or her July electric bill.Your board is excited to be able to offer this opportunity for your voice to be heard.

We're always looking out for you.
