Dates: 1st - 2nd July 2015 This course is designed to equip church members with creative facilitation skills to use with groups both in the church and in the community. It is a good foundation course for anyone who is involved in the ‘Hope and a Future’ workshop series run by the diocese, as well as those who would just like to improve their facilitation skills.

What we hope to achieve • To provide a safe, but fun and lively learning environment in which participants can gain confidence in their facilitation skills • To equip participants with a range of creative tools and methods for enhancing their facilitation, which include the use of learning games, drama, cartoons and visual images • To equip participants with a range of methods including art and drama to help them present Bible passages creatively • To strengthen the ability of participants to respond creatively to unfolding and unexpected situations.

What we will cover • The key principles of facilitation and useful frameworks and models for guiding a process • Creative ways of energising and engaging groups • Using creativity and reflection to facilitate a Bible study • Understanding group dynamics and managing conflict • Creative decision making and planning tools

How will the course delivered? The course will be delivered by Bill Crooks and Jackie Mouradian of Mosaic Creative who have written and facilitated the Hope and Future workshops in the diocese of St Asaph. It is a practical, interactive course, using a variety of creative teaching methods, including demonstration of skills, small group work, discussion and review, use of drama and presentations and basic drawing and cartoon techniques. This course has been run regularly since 2005 for international and local NGOs, such as CAFOD, Trocaire, Tearfund, The Mothers’ Union, Episcopal Relief and Development, Us and Compassion International.
