DON Innovation Sustainment Group (DISG) PROVIDES AN INTEGRATED APPROACH TO INNOVATION SUSTAINMENT: • SECNAV Innovation Action Memos – Monitoring implementation & updates as needed
• Innovation Incentives/Awards – Managing the Annual SECNAV Innovation Awards and Innovation Incentives Program • Naval Innovation Network (NIN) – Integrating the “network of networks” and developing the NIN Hub • The Hatch - Hosting Challenges and Campaigns, moderating and processing crowdsourced ideas plus managing “The Hatch” infrastructure • Seed Funding – Kick-starting non-programmed or innovative initiatives, promoting NIAC piloting initiatives • Strategic Communications – Soliciting inputs and coordinating messaging for the Website, Newsletter and other Stratcom vectors

Naval Innovation Advisory Council (NIAC) -Small cadre of select Sailors, Marines and DON Civilians assigned for 1-year tours as “SECNAV Innovation Advisors” -Assigned to National Capital Region or the Naval Postgraduate School (currently at DIUx). -Tasked to consider, develop and accelerate innovative concepts for presentation to the SECNAV and other DON leaders, with recommendations to synchronize senior leadership, influence the flow of resources, streamline policy, and remove roadblocks that hinder innovation.
