Jewish Federation Launches Fight Hunger Campaign Whippany, NJ, February 27, 2014 — Hunger is not just found in Third World countries — it is found more and more in suburban communities across New Jersey. In response to its communal responsibility to help those in need, Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ (Federation) is launching Let All Who Are Hungry Come and Eat — FIGHT HUNGER, a month-long campaign throughout March dedicated to both raising awareness about the issue of hunger and to help those who are hungry in Greater MetroWest and around the world. Here is what people of all ages can do: Help restock the Bobrow Kosher Food Pantry at Oheb Shalom Congregation in South Orange, the Jewish Family Service of Central NJ Kosher Food Pantry in Elizabeth, the Jewish Relief Agency MetroWest NJ in Morristown, and the Community FoodBank of New Jersey in Hillside with donations of kosher-forPassover or year-round non-perishable kosher food items. Donations are also being accepted at www.jfedgmw.org/fighthunger to help feed desperately hungry children and the elderly in the former Soviet Union and to help restock the local food pantries. Federation stands at the center of a network of 27 local and four overseas partner agencies dedicated to providing comprehensive social services and meeting the educational, vocational, recreational, and social needs of Jews and others in need locally, in Israel, and in 70 countries around the world. Federation also creates ways/spaces for people to connect to a multitude of Jewish experiences in personally meaningful ways. Responding to emergency and disaster situations around the world is another important part of the Federation mission. Learn more at www.jfedgmw.org. Drop off sites are located throughout Essex, Morris, Union, and Sussex counties. For specific locations, requested food items, and further information, visit www.jfedgmw.org/fighthunger or contact Stacey Brown at [email protected] or (973) 929-3027.
