We will start with the color wheel and then vocabulary to talk about color, color schemes, materials and black & white. Then we will expand to fabric, color weaving, prints, polka dots, plaids and stripes. Samples of quilts will be reviewed to show where the color works and where it doesn't, as well as what went wrong. This is a great class to help you get ready for your next quilt.

This exciting workshop will be over four evenings. Having your own original T-shirts or memorable photos incorporated into a quilt is the answer for what to do with all those memories you want to preserve. Your one-of-a-kind quilt will be a visual biography and colorful heirloom.

The moulage is a form-fitting pattern that duplicates your figure exactly and is used to create the sloper pattern, which is then used as the jumping off point for designing your own patterns. You will work towards creating a custom skirt sloper tailored to your measurements. Once this sloper is completed you will sew a simple muslin test garment and make alterations to perfect your slopers fit. Once the fit and alterations are complete you will be able to manipulate this new custom sloper, creating many different skirt styles. Beginning Sewing Learn how to put a basic garment together. Choose a pattern that fits you properly and learn the various sewing techniques for garment construction. To keep it simple, everybody uses the same store classroom sewing machines. From shopping for the right supplies to the finished project, you will complete a simple garment by the last session.

This class is for all new sewers (and students intending on borrowing a sewing machine) so they can take other classes. All beginners must take this class or have teacher approval prior to taking any beginning sewing or kids class at EQB. Machines are provided for students to use in class.
