PRAYER Today we remember St. Walburga who lived in England in the 8th century. She joined the convent at a young age and was well educated. She became a nun, and after 26 years traveled to Germany as a missionary and assisted her uncle, St. Boniface, in helping with evangelization and establishing the Church. Her brothers were there, also as an abbot and a bishop. She had two sisters who also were saints, as was her father. She is known for many miracles while she was alive and after her death. She is patron saint of sailors, mariners, farmers, and patron saint against storms, famines, and coughs! Please stand for the prayer and pledge. Lord, we pray in a special way for our winter sports teams, especially our seniors as they are recognized this Thursday night. Please bring us to have trust in you and be aware of the gifts and talents you have given each of us. We pray for our parents and teachers as they come together this week to look at the progress of our students, and may we experience blessings from these discussions, and a deeper understanding of expectations and goals. We pray for all those in our diocese. St. Walburga, pray for us. All Saints, pray for us. Amen I pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
