College Care Packages We want to extend our love and support to our youth while they are away at college. The Student Services and Camping Committee will be packing care packages for approximately 20 students Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Would you be willing to contribute? If so, please bring items to the table in the Fellowship Hall. Here’s some suggestions… candy, gum, mints, microwave popcorn, trail mix, dried fruit, raisins, granola bars, nuts, instant oatmeal or soup, energy bars, Ramen noodles, paper clips, highlighters, stamps, post-it-notes, pens, pencils, gift cards, Chapstick/Carmex, individually wrapped packets of hot cocoa, coffee, tea, cider, or Kleenex or cash donations for postage. Thank you for your generosity! Women’s Bible Study Women’s Bible study will resume Wednesday, February 20, 2019, from 7:00-8:00 p.m., in the conference room (south entrance). We will be studying the book of Luke and using the study guide by NT Wright. We will begin with Chapter 7 in the study guide and will be following a similar scripture pattern as Sunday morning worship and high school Sunday School and Midweek. A detailed schedule will be available at our first meeting. Please call/text Jerri Janzen at 402-366-7402 if you are interested in attending and would like a book ordered for you. The NT Wright book is available on www.amazon.com for those wishing to purchase the book on their own. Bethesda’s Annual Congregational Meeting will be held immediately following the worship service today. There will be no adult, or high school Sunday school. Preschool through grade 8 will have Sunday School as usual. The noon meal will serve as a fundraiser for this year’s youth as they travel to the MC USA Conference.

Jesus loved conversations with God. And he taught us to do the same when he taught us the Lord’s Prayer. You are invited to spend a day in conversation with God. Come away to a prayer retreat at the church Saturday, March 2, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Pastor Jim will guide participants through this day of input, personal prayer and reflections together. The morning session begins at 8:30 a.m. with a midmorning break and lunch at noon. The afternoon session begins at 1:00 p.m. with a midafternoon break. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Bring a Bible, notebook and a writing tool. Please sign up in the church office by February 26. Come for the whole day or the morning or afternoon session as your time allows.

Kate Friesen graduated from the University of Sioux Falls in 2012 with double degrees in theatre and youth ministry and from Sioux Falls Seminary in 2017 with a Master of Divinity degree. Mainly, though, he will be highlighting the life, hardships, and worship of the Congolese women on the mission and how Dayspring projects have benefited the women there.
