This Week @ Lakes Sunday: 12:15pm All VBS volunteers please meet in the auditorium for instructions and assignments. Please make every effort to attend. We also need help setting up tents. ALL help is greatly appreciated. Note: There is no evening service tonight.
Monday & Wednesday – 5:00pm The opening ceremony for Lakes’ Vacation Bible School will begin promptly at 6:00pm tomorrow evening. Dan Magee and Mike Z. are ready to lead their teams to victory. Please register your child and their friends on the church web site if you have not already done so.
Go Wild!
All Volunteers: A meal is planned for you on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Please sign up at the INFO CENTER if you plan to attend either meal. Donations are appreciated to help cover the cost.
Friday – Awards & Carnival Join us for the Grand Finale. The Awards Ceremony will take place from 6:30 – 7pm followed by the carnival. Nachos and dessert will be served.
Saturday – Open House - Quinn Krause 3:00-7:00pm 1801 Shankin – Wolverine Lake – 48390 Please Note the ADDRESS CHANGE
VBS Supply Needs Candy & Snacks We still need some candy and snack items for the week. Please stop by the INFO Center and check out the clipbboards. If you can bring a bag or two with you during the week, that would be helpful. If you would like to donate $$, please drop it in the VBS donation can. Thanks!

We are just hours away from our GO WILD! Nature Week here at Lakes. It is typically an exciting time each year, but why do we host a Vacation Bible School each year? If someone asked you that, how would you answer it? I think how we answer that will dictate how we choose to approach it whether we have children in it or not, whether we are volunteering or not. For our family, it somehow gives us another reason or platform to involve ourselves in the lives of families in our lives and neighborhood. At the same time though, it also serves as a reminder that we really don’t need that platform as an excuse to reach out to and spend time with community families. It’s what we are called to do each day - share our lives with others. It’s easy to spend a whole day sometimes without touching anyone else’s life. We can sit behind a computer screen, keep to our office, hide behind chores and busyness and fail to understand what being “bought with a price” really means - our lives are not our own, but we act like it’s our most precious possession - it’s actually not, it’s the treasure inside of our jar of clay and it’s meant to be shown and shared. So, whether you serve this week, participate or are unable to, let’s be sure to keep that focus the main thing. Because you know what? If each of us had one gospel conversation with a family in the process of inviting them to GO WILD! but none of those families came, the week would still be a success.
Every member & regular attender at Lakes has a mailbox located across from the ladies’ classroom (Huron Room). Your box number is listed on the wall. Please check it periodically.
