Instructions: 1. Create a 3½" x 5" top-folding notecard from Marshmallow cardstock. 2. Cut a 3¼" x 4¾" panel from Marshmallow cardstock. 3. Tuck the Marshmallow panel into a cardboard box, and spritz it with Primrose Color Shine spray ink. Remove the spray top, and drip a few additional drops of ink onto the panel. 4. Repeat Step 3 using Calico Shine Mister Huey’s spray ink. Allow the panel to dry completely. 5. Die cut a butterfly from a Marshmallow cardstock scrap. Tuck the die cut into a cardboard box, and coat both sides of the die cut using Primrose Color Shine spray ink. Allow die cut to dry completely. 6. Pounce a powder tool or powder bag over a 40 lb. vellum panel to reduce static and prevent stray embossing powder from sticking to uninked areas. 7. Stamp leaves in VersaMark ink on the vellum panel. Heat emboss using White embossing powder. Cut out the leaves, leaving a small vellum edge around the embossing. 8. Position the Tweed Pattern stencil over the inked panel, and secure to your work surface using washi or painter’s tape.

Pounce a powder tool or powder bag over a Black cardstock scrap to reduce static and prevent stray embossing powder from sticking to uninked areas. 11. Tips & Tricks

• Bazzill White 40 lb Vellum Sheets (SSS | EH)

• If you’re going to use translucent embossing paste

• Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock (SSS | EH | IE)

to create thick layers, give yourself plenty of drying

• Scrapbook Adhesives White Foam Adhesive (SSS | EH)

time—your design may even need to dry overnight.

• Tombow Stamp Runner (SSS | EH | IE)

Consider creating multiple embossing paste stenciled designs at once to take advantage of that drying time. • Allow your watercolors to dry completely before

adding another layer of color or shading to an image. Otherwise, your paper may start to peel and mottle.

• Translucent embossing paste is different than white

embossing paste: it dries to a smooth, glassy finish that is non-porous, making it perfect for resist techniques. White embossing paste has a “fluffier” finish that can grab hold of ink, making it ideal for techniques like the ones Debby shares today.
