Happy Thanksgiving EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS Often times parents do not know where to turn if they believe their child or someone close to them may have areas of delay in development. We want to let you know of two great early intervention resources that are available to young children that may have suspected developmental delays or mental health issues. They are ARIN IU and the PA Keys Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program. ARIN IU is a Regional Education Service Agency in Armstrong and Indiana Counties. Through its work with various schools, businesses, and human resource agencies it provides cost-effective high quality programs and services to young children with developmental delays, as well as their families. The available programs are speech/language therapy; specialized instruction such as Teacher Consultation, Little Sprouts, Little Apples Preschools; and homebased support. Their services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychological services, and service coordination.

Good bye You will be missed!

We have had a lot of sick children and we have not even seen full blustery days yet! So with that being said we understand that it is difficult for a family member to leave or miss work, but to protect other children, please do not bring a sick child to the center. Do not bring your child if they are exhibiting any of the symptoms below.
Illness that prevents your child from participating in activities Illness that results in greater need for care than we can provide. Fever accompanied by other symptoms. (above 100 under the arm, above 101 in the mouth, above 102 in the ear *temporal or forehead scanners are usually .5 lower than other measures) Diarrhea Vomiting
These are the commonly seen symptoms, especially a fever. We would appreciate your reviewing pages 17 – 20 in the Parent Handbook so we can all be mindful of when a child should or should not be at the Center due to illness.

The things our team will do to make our kids laugh!
A few years ago, I was doing a study in my personal devotions called “What Do I Know About My God?”. I read through the Psalms, with a notebook and pen in hand, writing down every description and characteristic of God that I could find. The purpose of the study was to get to know God better, so that I could love Him more completely. This particular verse stood out to me, and became very close to my heart. If I were to ask you to describe God, you would probably tell me that He is faithful, forgiving, merciful, loving, etc; and all of those things are certainly true. However, I doubt you would say, “He is the lifter of my head.” Nevertheless, that phrase has become one of my favorite descriptions of God. While it may have a different original meaning or context, here’s what it means to me: it means that when I am feeling defeated, and when I hang my head, Jesus comes along, puts His hand under my chin, gently lifts it, and says “Chin up, Sarah. I’ve got this.” When my head is down, I see all my problems; but when Christ lifts my head, my eyes become fixed on Him, and my worries fade as my faith grows. So next time you start to feel defeated, just picture Jesus lifting your head, and fix your eyes on Him.
