Dear Parents/Carers, It has been a very busy few weeks at Hereward as we prepare for the Christmas concert season (starting Monday 5th December). In addition, we have participated in two special nationally promoted

events – ‘Anti-Bullying Week’ and ‘Switch-off Week’. For the latter,

the School Council monitored electricity use and were extremely

vigilant in ensuring that lights were switched off around the school. This Friday the PTA will be holding the Christmas Fete in the school from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. It will be wonderful to see all of you attending to not only celebrate the Christmas season, but to raise money for the school.

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AND SCOOTERS Again, we have to remind all parents and carers to support us in relation to the use of the new playground equipment. As previously mentioned, we would ask all of you to remind your children that they should NOT be using the equipment before or after school. We have spoken about this with the children in assemblies. The children will have plenty of time to use the equipment during the school day, as all break-times will now be held in the front playground. In addition, it has been a long-established understanding that no child should be riding a scooter in the playground. This has also occurred recently, so please make sure that this does not happen in the interests of the safe well-being of all. CHRISTMAS DINNER AT SCHOOL The kitchen staff at school will be serving Christmas Dinner to the children on Wednesday 14 th December. A letter in relation to this was sent home recently. Please note that all meals on this day need to be pre-ordered to enable the staff to order and cater for the occasion, including those children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 who receive free school meals and those in Years 3-6 who are also not required to pay. To pre-order the Christmas Dinner, please complete the order note on the bottom of the letter and send it to school as soon as possible. For those who need to obtain another letter,
