In Memory James was born on March 6, 1932, in Le
Claire, IA, the son of Emory and Stella Coffin Long. He worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Rock Island from 1958 until 1983. James served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 and then served for 8 years in the Reserves. In 1962, he was discharged with the rank of Corporal. James was a Korean War veteran as well as the Commander of the American Legion Post 246. Survivors include his daughter, Karen (Marquel) Reynolds, Moline, IL; son, Kenneth (Kim) Long, Marion, IA; 4 grandchildren, Kylie Long, Moriah BanguraLong, Maliyah Reynolds, and Micah Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Robert, William, and Fred Long.
