Jack was born on November 26, 1942, in Burlington, IA, the son of John R. and Maude R. James Roxlau. Jack was a very proud union man (U.A.W.) since 1961. Jack, after studying the platforms of the major political parties decided that the Democratic party was his choice and was proud to say he never voted Republican. Jack retired from Farmall/Navistar with 35 years. He loved his Cubs and the Bears. An avid outdoors man, mainly deer hunting in his later years. And proud to see his kids, grandkids and great grandkids following in his footsteps.

In Memory

Jack leaves his precious wife, Shirley, married in 1961, and his children who he raised from babies, Mike (Penny) Hayes, Terry (Roger) Nutt, Bob (Marcia) Hayes, Roxanne Humphreys, and Rick Hayes, already in heaven since 1988 waiting for his Dad. He also leaves behind 11 grandkids, 17 great grandkids, sisters, Sandra (Joe) Miller and Sherry Martin, and beloved pet, Shiloh. Jack will be laid to rest on the Rock Island Arsenal, having served in the Army. Gone before him are his parents and many family and friends. Jack was a member of Christ Church of Colona. Former member of the Moline Gospel Temple, of Moline, his church will handle the funeral services, where Jack enjoyed teaching and serving as an elder. Always wanted to be remembered (He tried).
