7/5/2015 PRAYER:

Father, we thank you for allowing us to learn about your Word today. I thank you for all of my brothers

and sisters I can have through You. I pray that we all show the love of the Lord to everyone. In your name I pray, amen.

LESSON MEMORY VERSE:

Hebrews 10:24 “Let us help each other to love others and do good.” (All verses are simplified so children can understand)

I Love My Brothers and Sisters Purpose

To encourage each child to show love towards their brothers and sisters in the Lord. Learning Activities:

Invite a child to give the opening prayer. We can love our brothers and sisters:

Ask: Do any of you have a baby brother or sister at home?

Let children who have a baby brother or sister talk about the baby and tell how their families prepared for a new baby.

•Do any of you have older brothers or sisters at home?

Let the children talk for a few moments about their brothers and sisters. Remind the children that all families

are different. Some people have lots of brothers and sisters, and some people have only a few or none at all. No matter how many brothers or sisters we have, we should love them and be kind to them. Lesson:

Although some of us have little brothers or sisters, or big brothers and sister, or maybe none at all at home we have ALL have brothers and sisters here at church. (Have children look to the person next to them, point, and say you are my brother/sister), now to it to the other side and repeat.

Do you know why they are your brother/sister? When we accept Jesus to come into our hearts we become a part of God’s family. And because we are all apart of God’s family that makes us brothers and sisters! We can help our brothers and sisters

•How can you help your brothers and sisters? •How do your brothers and sisters help you?

The bible says in Hebrews 10: 24-25

24 Let us help each other to love others and to do good. 25 Let us not stay away from church. Comfort each other always.

ACTIVITY

Describe some actions that show how the children might react to their brothers and sisters. Have the children

put their thumbs up if the action is a way of helping a brother or sister, and have them put their thumbs down if the action is not helping a brother or sister. You may want to use some of the following ideas: •Share your new toy with your sister.

•Borrow your brother’s ball without asking his permission. •Help your sister pick up her toys.

•Ask your brother for permission to play with his ball. •Refuse to play a game with your sister. •Be kind when your brother is sad.

•Play with your sister when she is lonely.

TESTIMONY

Share your feelings about the importance of brothers and sisters helping and loving each other. If possible, share a personal childhood experience when you and your brother or sister helped each other. Remind the

children that when we help our brothers and sisters we are showing our love for them. Express how grateful you are to Heavenly Father for placing us in families (HIS FAMILY). Craft:

1.Follow instructions for craft that is found in the craft basket. (hand[prints)

CLOSING:

1.Ask if any Child has not accepted Jesus in their heart. If they have not do the prayer of salvation with them

and then let the Director (Hannah) know about the event.

•“Dear Jesus, I thank you for dying on the cross. Because of this, I am forgiven. I want you to be the leader

of my life and come live in my heart. Help me live my life for you. Amen”.

2.Pray for the Children; that God quicken them to be able to see when a brother or sister in Christ is I need.

That he give them a tender heart of servant hood for their brothers and sisters.
