Organizing Commi,ee together with Ski Sport Finland Associa:on is pleased to invite all the teams to a,end the 2017 FIS Alpine World Cup Slalom Opening for both Men and Women to be held at Levi Ski Resort in Finland in November 11th and 12th, 2017. The compe::on is composed of two races in Slalom, one for women and one for men. The Organizing Commi,ee will host the event in accordance with the Interna:onal Ski Compe::on Rules (I.C.R.) of FIS.

SNOW DEPOTS Levi Ski Resort together with the Organizing Committee has made preparations to ensure the event this November by storing snow over the summer. Two snow depots have been stored in May from mainly manmade snow produced in January. The snow depots will be spread out before the main snow making session, the plan is to start with the spreading the first week of October. Race line will be secured from start to finish. Finishing work will be done with additional fresh man-made snow and water in closed collaboration with Race directors.
REGISTRATION Team registration will take place daily starting on the arrival day Wednesday, November 8th 2017, 10:00 – 20:00, at the Race Office in the Hullu Poro (Crazy Reindeer) Conference Centre. The registration requires only one member of the team to collect the accreditations from the Race Office.
ACCOMMODATIONS Accommodation for athletes and officials is provided in the hotels located in the Ski area. All checkins and room registrations will take place at the hotels. The payment for accommodation and full board are based on the FIS Rule. The price for the extra night is 120,00 CHF / person with full board. The teams are advised to accommodate the team members in double rooms due to the amount of rooms available. All the payments have to be made directly to the payment office in the race office – including also the EXTRA nights. Please, make your accommodation payments to the payment office BEFORE checking out of the hotel. At check out, you will have to pay for your incidentals directly to the hotel.

[email protected] All reservations must be done by email including names and payment method. We can accept credit cards or we can send invoices. We need final name list 9 days before departure. INFORMATION We have group flight rates for all Finnair European direct departure destinations. NEW! Group size will be 5 persons or more. The rate will vary and it will include 3pc / 69 kg weight per passenger (23kg / baggage). Price level will be similar to what it has been previous years. For individual persons we will offer value-rate which allows to make changes. You can change date with extra charge 50 EUR / change. Value tickets' cancellation fee is 50%.
In order to handle the excess weight it is important that your group will make reservations through Nunnu Kivikari. We can handle all the excess weights for each group. These special conditions are valid only for FIS World Cup! PAYMENT OF EXCESS-BAGGAGE FEES Finnair needs to get all information from your group concerning excess baggage in order to confirm it and put the information into the system. You need to supply dimensions and weight per baggage when you make the reservation. The travel agent will put all info into your reservation and will charge team credit card or send invoice as per agreement. If you need more than 3 pc baggage it will cost 15-30 EUR / package / one way (max 23kg) CANCELLATION TERMS The cancellations terms for the whole group of travellers are the following on all routes: • 30 to 15 days prior to departure: 50% of the group fare will be charged • less than 14 days prior to departure latest: 100% of the group fare is non refundable • name changes after tickets have been issued 80 EUR per change, before ticketing 50 EUR per change The cancellations fees are debited even if the tickets have not yet been issued. The deposit of a cancelling passenger may be deducted from the cancellation fee, but the minimum cancellation fee to be debited is 80 EUR.
TRANSPORTATION Since the teams are provided a courtesy shuttle from the airport, they are asked to inform the arrival and departure times in detail via email
[email protected]. Rental skis and boots for officials - the teams have access to rental skis and boots with 50% discount from the Levi ski resort. Please send a list of names (with boot sizes) of those who need skis or boots to
[email protected]. Gates for training – the teams can rent gates for the training in Levi: teams with 7 athletes or less pay 100,00 € and teams with more athletes pay 200,00 €. The gates have to be reserved through
[email protected] before the race and the gate rental fee will be charged together with the accommodation fee. Teams overnighting in Helsinki have special rate 138,00 € / night / sgl or dbl room w breakfast available for the Hotel Hilton at the airport. SKI WAXING ROOMS Ski waxing rooms are located at the garage of Sokos Hotel (as in previous years). The facility is open from Monday onwards.
SPORTS HALL RESERVATIONS Hotel Levitunturi has sport halls available for indoor training - reserva:ons at the race office.
PRESS CONFERENCES AND RELEASES If any of the teams are having press conferences before the event, the Main Media Center in the Hotel Hullu Poro is free for teams’ use. Please, inform the Chief of Media Petra Olamo media@skisport.fi about the plans beforehand. Press releases can be delivered out in the Main Media Center.
RADIO FREQUENCIES The Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority (FICORA) controls the use of radio frequencies in Finland and ensures that a sufficient number of frequencies are equally available, in order to ensure all users are able to operate in a cooperative and legal manner. Each user of a radio transmitter subject to license must obtain a license granted by FICORA. FICORA assigns the frequencies to be used. It is prohibited to use any other frequencies than the ones mentioned in the license.
