NEWS FROM YOUR PARENT CENTER Parent Tip: Your children have learned tips that will help them do a better job on the upcoming tests. Getting a good night's rest, eating a healthy breakfast, listening, concentrating and doing their best are some of the important tips. Encouraging our children to follow these tips will help them during test time and everyday as well!

Students of the Month - Congratulations to the following students who have been chosen by their teachers as Students of the Month for March 2017! Hall - Davien Yingling; Jones Ethan Lecroy; Wells - Joey Conklin; Lasagna - Ashanti Johnson; Moss - Gracie Schaefer; Gallegos - Madison Schlosser; Phillips - Will Kizzia; Wade - Samantha Shepherd; Revels - Cheylynn McClard; Spadoni - Taysia Buckley; Cook - Aaron Holland; Mabry - Abby Jo McClaran. These students will be honored at our April school board meeting in the central office. DONUTS FOR DADS IS COMING SOON! Dads, mark your calendars now and make plans to attend this exciting and fun event. On Tuesday, May 2nd, drop by the school between 8:15 and 10:15 to read a book with your child. If your child is part of our Accelerated Reader (AR) program, you may then take 1 AR test together. Refreshments will be served in our cafeteria. Let your child know that you think reading is important by being part of this special event!

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION for 2017-18 was held this week. If you missed it, please come by the elementary office before school is out in May to register. You do not need to bring your child at this time.

EASTER PICTURE: The PPO is doing their annual "Easter Picture" fundraiser, where children will be able to sit with baby animals and have their picture made for $4 a photo. Forms have been sent home with your students. Please have the forms and money turned into by Tuesday, April 11th. Pictures will take place Wednesday, April 12th. As always, thank you for supporting your PPO! The Magnet Cove Gifted and Talented Program is accepting nominations for the 2017-2018 school year for students who are currently in 2nd grade or higher. Please keep in mind the qualities that are used in the identification process. The nominee should have a combination of the following characteristics: Above Average Academic Ability: He/she makes A’s, scored Advanced on school and statewide exams(ACT Aspire, NWEA, STAR, NAEP, etc.), and has HIGH standardized test scores. Task Commitment: The student is SELF-motivated and persistent. He/she is a leader, an achiever, and demonstrates these qualities at school. Creativity: The student has many varied, unique ideas and uses elaboration to enhance products. Nomination forms are available in the elementary school office or on the Magnet Cove School District’s website under the Student Life/Gifted and Talented Tab. After completion, please return in a marked envelope to Angie Whitley by Friday, March 31.

2017 YEARBOOK SALE

Friday, April 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. High School commons This day, and this day only, you may pay for your child's yearbook by check or cash payments. You may send the check or cash in an envelope with the child's name and grade to the high school or come by and pay in person. After Friday, April 7, you will have until April 15 to buy online. After April 15, the payment will increase $5. Thank you. ___________________________________________________________________________________________

Annual Junior-Senior Powder Puff Game has been set for Wednesday, May 10, at 1:30 p.m. If it rains, we'll switch to dodge ball in the gym at the same time. This is our Junior Class Fundraiser. Cost of admission is $1. Snack cakes and soft drinks will be served for $1 each as well! We look forward to seeing everyone there!
