MAYRA MEETING MINUTES July 21, 2013 Present: Kris Radeke, Sheila Swenson, Patti Miller, Lindsay Ashworth, Stacey Peterson, Adam Nordenstrom, Kevin Braidey, Luke Athey, Brett Balwin, Jane Skramstad, Also present: Chris Radeke, Sara Nordenstrom Absent: Jinx Greski, Joe Mulford Meeting called to order 6:28 pm Motion to approve June minutes Adam and Kris R. approved. Old Business  Returning registration for hockey will be held on August 14th at the Civic Center.  New player registration for hockey will be held September 4th and 7th at the Civic Center.  Rink Clean-up day is set for September 14th and 21st beginning at 8 a.m. o Brett will get a list together of things that need to be done. o Volunteer sign up at registration.  Luke will be asking Corey Stanchfield about volunteer helpers for clean-up days. New Business  Twins Grant for $3,000 was given to MAYRA thanks to Patti and Joe; agreements have been signed and sent. The Twins would like to see this done by Nov. 1st.  Trailview is doing some work on their fields and a MAYRA representative will be coordinating the use of the grant along with them.  Outdoor rinks have graffiti on them and needs to be taken care of at or before clean up days. nd  First ice is scheduled to be ready by October 2 . rd  Let’s play hockey for free is scheduled for October 3 . Committee Reports: 

Hockey o Steve Carroll will be doing goalie training this year. Adam is working on a schedule for all goalies. o Heggie’s pizza fundraiser for hockey players/families. $2 per pizza sold will go to families and approximately $2 per pizza will go back to MAYRA. Julie Fore will be in charge of this fundraiser.

o Indoor/outdoor tournaments being offered this year for Squirts will require us to replace the kick plate on the north rink. 

Softball o All equipment was turned in. o Majors will be corrected so that stealing to run up the score doesn’t happen as much for next year



T-ball o All equipment has been turned in and accounted for, season wrapped up good



Baseball Patti will mail the sponsor their pictures with a thank you note.  Mora Chevrolet Picture has been taken and Stacey said she would put together a caption for the Times.  Next year’s coaches will be looked at more closer as there was a few problems

      

Flag Football – Joe absent. Nothing to report Soccer – Looking at doing a 3 day clinic in the fall. Working on dates. Warming House – nothing to report Oversight Committee Report: nothing to report Debit Card Report: See reports from Jane 3 transactions have been made Gambling Report: no report given this month Financial Report: Tax accountant from Althoff & Nordquist in Pine City is working on financial reports. Kris motioned to pay bills and Stacey second the motion Open Discussion: nothing to report


