Pre-Bid Meeting, February 23, 2015 11:00 a.m. 300 West water line replacement/crossing project Attendance: Marcus Simons Riley Argyle Glen Gillies Kathy Hislop Chantry Argyle Martin Bills Shane Watterson Steve Watterson Darren Lutz Gary Ryan The approximate calculated cost for this project is $35,000. Marcus explained that the winning bidder will need to get all the required permits from UDOT, and must prepare the traffic control plan. Winning bidder will also need to list UDOT and Garden City as additional insured on their policy and meet all bonding requirements. Riley explained that the e-mail to the bidders didn’t get out correctly so this pre-bid meeting will not be mandatory and other bidders can still bid even if they didn’t make it to this meeting. The bids will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. on March 10th and will be opened after that. The bid will be awarded during the Town Council meeting held on March 12th. The project must be bid with a new fire hydrant, but keep it as a line so the old one can be reused if possible. It is still not sure if the existing line is a 6” or an 8”. If necessary we can adjusted depending on the real line size. Bid according to the plan. This project must be completed by May 1, 2015 with no exceptions. That was the agreement with UDOT to allow this to be an open cut and not a bore under the highway. UDOT also requires asphalt to be laid after April 15th. The UDOT pavement requirement is 6 inches of asphalt, 6 inches of road base and 24 inches of asphalt. On-site Riley showed the air vac. Marcus stated that it is different than what is specified in the bid documents so he will send an addendum with the right requirements. Riley also explained where the line are in the road now and showed where the fire hydrant is that needs to be moved.
