Warm greetings to you all,
Night Support Worker (and casual relief) Friday 29 March was indeed a day of excitement and fun for us as we celebrated the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Early morning, there were 70 people who came together from the Boys’ Home and the Kuching folks, to have sunshine breakfast at our Home. Major Chelvee gave a sermon about the empty tomb with a grateful and rejoicing heart. Last week, Major Chelvee said that we had to start with our spring cleaning before we can go for midterm school holiday leaves. We took out the brooms and mops and got ready to start. First, we had to clear away things that we did not want. After that, we swept the floor clean and then, we mopped the floor. Though it was a little bit hard work, but we enjoyed doing it together with our room-mates as we were joking and laughing while working together to make our room clean and keep it tidy. Most of our native peers groups were going back to their village to celebrate “Gawai”. Gawai is the festive occasion for them to celebrate the harvesting of rice during the year. Uncle Rodney and Auntie Norella from Astralia were doing their volunteer services at our Home for three weeks. They organized plenty of activities for us; they took us to a forest park. When we arrived at the park, we loved the beautiful lake scenery! The air was fresh cool! We were happy that we had time together as a picnic time. Another favorite programme, it was cycling. We enjoyed ourselves by cycled at the badminton court and around about at our Home. We were very happy and enjoyed cycling very much with lots of laughter and yelled in the Home compound. Auntie Norella brought us to watch movie at MBO cinema at the Spring shopping mall which is near to our Home. After watrching the movies, we walked home together as a jogging exercise for the day. We really enjoyed our school holiday while some went to the camp in West Malaysia and some of us stayed back at the Home while we were no place to go but we enjoyed at the Home with lots of activities. In Malaysia, the weather now is very humid and hot. Auntie Norella brought us to swim at the MBKS swimming pool. We have so much fun and relaxed ourselves at the pool. I have to end here. Hope to hear from you soon. God Bless You! Your sponsored child, Liss Meele
