Background The aim of Tate is to increase public awareness, understanding and enjoyment of British art from the 16th century to the present day, and of international modern and contemporary art. An essential part of Tate’s audience strategy is to develop relevant communications and enjoyable experiences with our audiences in order to deepen engagement. The Relationship Marketing Manager sits at the heart of the delivery of this strategy, working with a wide range of internal stakeholders to ensure that we are delivering the most effective audience journeys possible. You can find further information about Tate on our website: Purpose of the Job Manage the development and delivery of multi-channel direct marketing campaigns designed to build and sustain long term relationships with audiences, and to drive revenue across all of Tate’s income streams. Main Activities/Responsibilities      

Develop and deliver direct marketing campaigns across multiple direct marketing channels. Manage multiple audience journey plans (e.g. welcome, retention, up-sell, engagement) to drive behavioural change and deepen engagement. Implement robust test and learn approaches to inform the development of the long term direct audience engagement strategy and capabilities. Design campaigns that increase our understanding of Tate audiences including data capture and capturing implicit and explicit preferences. Monitor, analyse, measure and report direct marketing campaign success and learnings. Manage the delivery of campaigns to agreed budgets, income targets and within time Collaborate well with internal stakeholders to ensure audience journeys deliver business and income objectives

Person Specification                      

Demonstrable passion for and relevant knowledge of CRM, database, social and digital marketing as an experienced practitioner. Thorough knowledge of direct and data-driven marketing theory and practice; testing, segmentation and targeting, campaign management, campaign analysis and customer profiling. Practical experience of multi-channel campaign management platforms. Demonstrable experience in executing multi-channel customer lifecycle journeys, utilising traditional get, keep and grow CRM frameworks to drive engagement, retention and advocacy. Understanding in utilising diverse data sets for list segmentation and contact targeting. Excellent organisation, planning and administrative skills, with ability to prioritise and coordinate multiple activities to meet deadlines and to budget. Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate well with others to proactively make improvements to audience journeys. Generate creative and innovative ideas, and translate them into practical plans. Proactively and positively respond to challenges to reach a successful outcome Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Resilient and proactive with a high motivation to make things happen Understanding of data and databases, data protection legislation and application. Knowledge of data protection legislation and best practice Record of success in the field of CRM, direct and digital marketing, gained within an organisation/industry with a similar audience focus to Tate. Demonstrable experience of delivery and tactical ownership of operational end-to-end multi-channel campaign management from planning. Proven experience in delivering a high volume of quality work, working on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Experience of working with briefing data teams to meet list segmentation and contact targeting needs Experience in the use of sophisticated email marketing solutions including, journey building, triggers, sequencing, contact selection, open contextual and multi-variant testing. Strong creative skills and ability to manage the creative development process with efficient use of limited resources and allocated budgets. Experience of driving efficiency and effectiveness in ways of working and working collaboratively with in-house resources, suppliers, external agencies and third parties. Type of Contract This appointment is offered on a permanent contract.

Working Hours This post is offered on a full-time contract working 36 hours per week – Monday to Friday. Salary An appointment to this post will be made at the minimum of the band at £30,000 per annum. In addition, this post will attract a market rate allowance of £2,600 per annum. A review of pay is undertaken annually at Tate through negotiation with the recognised trade unions. Any increases to individual salaries, will be subject to the terms of Tate’s annual pay settlement and will be applied from 1 April. Annual Leave and Public Holidays Annual leave is 25 working days per annum rising to 27 working days per annum after three years’ service. In addition, we offer paid time off for the 8 public holidays and 1 Tate day (on 24 December when the galleries are closed). Pension Benefits An important part of the pay and reward package Tate offers employees is the option to join the Civil Service Pension arrangements. These arrangements currently offer a choice of two types of pension: 

alpha. This is a defined benefit occupational pension scheme that currently has a member contribution rate which ranges from 4.6%-8.05% dependent on your salary. As your employer we meet the rest of the cost of the scheme. Further information about this can be found at partnership pension account. This is a stakeholder pension with a contribution from ourselves. How much we pay is based on your age. We pay this regardless of whether you choose to contribute anything. You do not have to contribute but, if you do, we will also match your contributions up to 3% of your pensionable earnings. The contributions are in addition to the age-related contribution mentioned above.
