•Brown on Edwards: “A big time scorer, he’s strong, can really get to the basket and draw contact. I expect him to shoot more free throws than probably anybody on our team. He actually loves contact and has the build for it [6-0, 216 pounds]. He’s a tough kid who played at a high level, coming from a good junior college team that went to nationals.” •Before NJCU: Played two seasons at Bergen Community College for Coach Sean Kelly. As a sophomore in 2011-12, earned First-Team All-Region XIX in NJCAA Division III. As a freshman he earned ThirdTeam All-America honors for NJCAA Division III. As a freshman BCC went 32-0 in the regular season and entered the national tournament as the #1 seed. The Bulldogs lost in the semifinals before winning the third place game to finish the year, 34-1. •High School: A 2009 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, he was a career 1000 point scorer for the Knights and helped lead the school to the county and state playoffs. He played in the North/South game. He also played three years of varsity football and owns the single-season school record for tackles. As a senior in 2009 he earned First-Team All-Passaic County honors from the Passaic County (NJ) Coaches Association and NJ.com Second-Team All-County honors and was named to the 2008-09 WGHT Radio All-Area reserve team. He led Paterson-Kennedy to the county finals for the first time since 2000. •Academics: Edwards is majoring in Criminal Justice. His goal is to become a detective. •Edwards on himself: “I work hard...I have fun with the game...I leave everything on the court...I listen well...I have a big heart.”
