The state has to finish paving. Retaining pond information has been sent to engineers. Mr. Ebert met with Duke Energy, and additional lighting will be installed on the front side of building. Three lights will be placed in the current student parking lot, and one near gym. Duke will maintain the lights.

E: Board Chair Remarks: Mrs. Clayton said, according to Board bylaws, there are several standing committees, and asked that Board members serve on at least one. Mr. Cates is now chairing Governance. Committees can be set up as needed. A personnel committee was formed last summer, for the MED search. It can be kept, or formed as needed. Ms. Townsend suggested it be formed an as-needed basis. Mrs. Fox agreed. Mr. Rogers said it could be responsible for MED evaluation, or the evaluation could continue under Governance, but there is no need for a personnel committee to meet monthly. The Board agreed to have a personnel committee as needed. F: Board Member Remarks: Ms. Townsend said she had planned to ask, as chair of the Director’s Roundtable, for use of the parking lot during Jingle on Main, but understands we may not have the CO by December 7. The RCS Band will perform again at Jingle on Main. Other RCS students will perform with their dance studios. Dr. Yarborough said the Haunted House was great. She also formally congratulated the volleyball and cross country teams. The PTSO is concerned about volunteers for the annual Extravaganza. Ms. Townsend asked everyone to mention volunteering to parents and others. Participation was low this year, but that could be due to the volleyball state championship game being on the same date. Mrs. Fox said vendors thought there was not enough space for booths. Ms. Townsend said the Glee Club entertained at Extravaganza, and sounded good. APS had a dog adoption as a result of having a booth at the event. G: Closed Session: NC G.S.143-318.11 Personnel Mrs. Fox made a motion to enter closed session. Mr. Rogers seconded.
