Member Spotlight Part of knowing God is knowing his children: You are no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here... God is building a home. He is using us all - irrespective of how we got here- in what he is building. Ephesians 2:19-20 (The Message)
Sandi Jacobs – 2017 Elder Let’s get to know another one of God’s children. What do you do outside of FCC, professionally and/or as a hobby? I have been a hairdresser for 46 years. I own a shop called Hair Tech here in Rogers. I am also a consultant for a skincare company called Rodan Fields. What is your favorite fact or characteristic about yourself? I think one of my strongest traits is that I have the ability to take on several things at one time. I am strong willed and will work hard to achieve a task. What brought you to FCC? Johnny and I were searching and Bill Freitag told Johnny that we needed to come to FCC. That was 18 years-ago and we have made some wonderful friends in this church. What is your favorite event at FCC? One of my favorite events is our Women’s Retreat. I see women come together, have fun, cry, laugh, and meet new friends. God always blesses us. What is the most spiritually meaningful thing to happen to you? Although I was raised in church, I didn’t go to church for a time. When I started back and rededicated my life, I had a whole new outlook on my walk with God. What is one piece advice you would give someone struggling with their faith? Open the Bible and get into the word of God. The Word of God is our guide to help us cope with life. Do this daily and God will grow your faith. What is your favorite way to “speak” to God? Out loud in my car, in the shower, when I wake up in the middle of the night – My prayers happen continuously. Do you have a favorite devotional or “daily time with God?” Yes, Jeremiah 29:11; “For I know the plan I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plan to give you hope and a future.” This was a scripture that came to me. God was definitely involved when we were searching for a pastor seven years ago. It had been a long 22 months look at sermons from candidates. Then Shawn Wallace appeared. Praise God! Thank you, Sandi, for being a part of our family and for allowing us to know you better!
