We write in reply to the Exchange’s request for confirmation on the news article entitled “ABS­CBN sees 2016 net income jump on political ads, high ratings” posted in abs­ on May 5, 2016. The article reported in part that: “ABS­CBN Corp. expects net income this year to surge by as much as 40 percent, boosted by political advertisements and its dominance of the prime time TV bloc, officials said Thursday.  The country's largest broadcaster could post a net income of P3.2 billion to P3.5 billion this year, from last year's P2.5 billion, which was the highest since 2010, chief financial officer Aldrin Cerrado told stockholders.  The company's earnings from political ads were ‘close to or slightly higher’ than the last presidential elections in 2010, said ABS­CBN President and chief executive officer Carlo L. Katigbak.  While political ad minutes were ‘slightly down,’ higher placement rates will drive earnings higher, Katigbak said.  . . . .
