SUMMER SOCCER CAMP LYA will also be offering a Player Development Summer Soccer Camp Aug 6-9, 2012 (3 hrs/night) in partnership with Atlantic Soccer Factory. This evening camp will be held in Lumberton from 5-8 pm and is ideal for the player of the future. The program is run by professional trainers and covers skills developed through a wide array of international philosophies including but not limited to Dutch training methods and Scottish development activities, incorporating a unique program specifically designed for U6-U14’s (first-eighth graders). Registration information and cost will be posted on our website in May.
BASKETBALL NEWS Thank you to all the coaches, parents and players for making the 2011-12 Travel basketball season a great success. We had two boys teams and one girls team participate in the travel program this past year and all achieved great success. Our 5th grade boys team finished the season 11-6, and our 7th grade girls team finished 12-4 and made it to the Semi-Finals. Our 6th grade boys team took home the 6th Grade “C” division championship with an impressive playoff run….congrats to all!

MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT LYA is proud to have launched two new recreation programs in 2011. During the Fall we launched the new LYA Rec Soccer program in which 251 boys and girls participated in outdoor soccer, and this past Winter we also launched the Rec Basketball program with 153 boys and girls. Thanks to everyone that supported us! LYA will be hosting our Fall Kickoff Classic on Friday August 17 to Commemorate LYA’s 10-Year Anniversary, build our club spirit, expose our rec soccer program to our travel program, connect teams, and have fun! This event is free of charge and we invite everyone to attend it. We will have a ceremony with guest speakers, food, drinks, games, prizes, apparel for sale, and an exhibition travel soccer game under lights.
