New Year Resolutions Dinner Money The correct dinner money £10.50 MUST be paid on a Monday morning in the Orange envelope. Cheques can be made payable to ‘South Tyneside Council.’ Haircuts and Jewellery  It is quite clear and specific in the school prospectus that there is a no jewellery policy in school.  Haircuts are not to have zigzag lines, tramlines or patterns. Children’s Absence & Lateness Tel: 0191 4552862 Option 1 to leave a message. Could parents please ring school on the first morning of their child’s absence providing a reason and perhaps an indication (where known) of how long the absence will be for. This must be followed up with a short note when the child returns. If Mrs Lee is not available please leave a message on the school’s answering machine.

 Black school shoes (No trainers) PE Kit Could parents please ensure children have their correct PE kit in school? Ask the Class teacher if you are unsure of the days.  Black Shorts  White T-Shirt  Black Plimsolls This term some PE lessons may be outside. Children can bring trainers, black jogging bottoms or leggings into school on the day of their PE lesson to wear outside in cold weather.

Chinese New Year Monday 4th February We will be celebrating Chinese New Year in school – children can wear something red or their own clothes.

Parent workshops We will be holding literacy workshops in each year group. This will be an opportunity for the children to share their learning with you and any ideas of how you can support them at home. Y4 – 31.01.19 at 2.30pm Y6 – 01.02.19 at 2.30pm Y1 – 06.02.19 at 2.30pm Y5 – 07.02.19 at 2.30pm Y3 – 08.02.19 at 2.30pm Y2 – 13.02.19 at 2.30pm Nursery and Reception Classes will be holding ‘Stay and Read’ sessions in class. Details to follow South Tyneside Music Festival Customs House Our Choir will be singing at ‘The Customs House’ on Mon, 18th March. Y2 will be performing on 21st March.

Packed Lunch There are a limited number of places on Packed Lunch for KS2 Pupils. Mrs Lee has a waiting list in the school office for children wishing to go onto packed lunch. You must have permission to bring a packed lunch into school A packed lunch policy is available on our school website. The overall aim of the policy is to ensure that all packed lunches brought from home and consumed in school (or on school trips) provide the pupil with healthy and nutritious food that is similar to food served in schools, which is now regulated by national standards.


Breakfast Club Breakfast club continues to run every morning from 8.00am. The children get a choice of cereal, toast, crumpets/muffins, fruit juice, tea or hot chocolate. Then they have the opportunity to play with activities until they are escorted to the classroom by staff. Entrance to the club is through the hall fire doors and each session is £2.00 payable on the day.

HALF TERM School closes 3.15 p.m. Friday 15th February.
