STANDARDBRED SCHEDULE 2017 Note: Times given are approximate only Thursday 9th March 2017 Start 9am – Polo Grounds, Hawkes Bay Show Grounds Please read these conditions carefully. You must read all the HOY Regulations & Conditions of entry and abide by them. It is the responsibility of the Rider/Handler/Person Responsible to know the rules of the class in which they are competing
Conditions 1. Only Standardbreds with an official harness racing freeze brands are eligible to enter 2. Owner must be a current financial member of the NISA or NZSRA at close of entries 3. Breastplate number holders or armbands are compulsory and the competitor is responsible for making the number. Only large black numbers on a white background are acceptable. No other colour combinations or formats are acceptable
4. Height Certificates – Are not required for this section 5. Qualification - All horses (excluding foals) MUST have won a Champion or two Reserves or two wins in a qualifying class between 1st March 2016 & 26th February 2017 in the Standardbred ring at a qualifying show. Qualifying classes include Youngstock, Mare or Gelding/Stallion classes for Inhand and Open or Ladies/Gentleman classes for Ridden
6. Attendance - All horses (excluding foals) MUST have competed at a minimum of two (2) RAS qualifying shows (excluding HOY 2016 & Auckland Easter show) in a Standardbred section between 1st March 2016 & 26th February 2017
7. Qualifying & Attendance Shows are ALL RAS affiliated shows, Canterbury Horse & Pony Breeders Show, North Island Standardbred Association’s North Island Championship & Pleasure Horse Show (only Inhand & Ridden Championship ring to qualify), NZSRA Championship show (only Open rings to qualify) or South Island Premier Championship Show
8. Novice – Is a horse that has not won 6 or more 1st in a Standardbred Ridden conformation class at a Qualifying show (Novice, Open, Ladies) by 26th February 2017. Novice horses are eligible to enter the Title class if they have qualified
