Prospective Student-Athlete Checklist Apply to St. Thomas University and Complete Admissions Requirements
Complete the STU application online: APPLY HERE - create a new account or login (be certain to complete the application in its entirety – failure to do so will delay the process at STU and with the NAIA Eligibility Center.) Send official transcripts-must be sent to St. Thomas University Office of Admissions directly from the high school or college/university. Send official SAT and/or ACT from test center to St. Thomas University Admissions. SAT code: 5076; ACT code: 0719; NAIA code: 9876. Send a second copy of your transcripts and SAT/ACT scores to your coach for athletics eligibility evaluation. Submit $200 undergraduate deposit fee (non-refundable) to hold your seat. If paying online make sure to select “Deposit (Undergraduate ONLY)” on the dropdown menu: PAY HERE Sign up for orientation, register for classes, get your STU e-mail and ID card, etc. Complete Records Release Form.
For International Students (high school or transfer) o
Official transcripts must be sent to St. Thomas University Office of Admissions directly from the high school or college/university. Official final transcripts must be sent from high school upon graduation in order to be fully accepted. Diploma date must be posted on transcript. Top 50% letter must be signed by Principal or Head Master, printed on letterhead and mailed to St. Thomas University Office of Admissions. Transfer and High School College Prep classes must be evaluated using INCRED via the NAIA Eligibility Center. The fee is $190, but you must register for the NAIA Eligibility Center first (see below). Request translation with term by term, course by course, GPA equivalency, graduation date, high school ranking and be sure to have the evaluation sent directly to St. Thomas University Admissions. For an additional $150, evaluation can be done in two days, or for an additional $75 for a five-day priority processing. Submit Insurance and Health Forms REQUIRED HEALTH FORMS
Print the health/immunization forms and return them to Health Services. Visit Health & Wellness page to apply for/waive student health insurance (a copy of proof of insurance must also be given to Athletics Trainer). HEALTH & WELLNESS
Athletics Requirements to be Eligible to Play
You should register and pay for the NAIA Eligibility Center (EC) no later than two months prior to starting classes at St. Thomas University. You will not be eligible to play if you do not complete the entire process. Keep checking what they need. Register for NAIA Eligibility Center and pay one-time registration fee ($80 for US and Canadian students, $135 for international students & $125 for US and Canadian transfer students or students with more than a summer break from High School.): http://www.playnaia.org/ Send official SAT or ACT from test center to NAIA Eligibility Center. NAIA code: 9876 Send official and final High School or Transfer transcripts to NAIA Eligibility Center. Send a copy of your health insurance card (both front and back) to the Athletic Trainer and Coach (they do not verify with the Health & Wellness department, this is a separate procedure). Complete the Student Athlete Physical Form provided by our athletic training staff: Attend a Pre-Participation Meeting before practicing. Attend any other meetings/functions expected of student-athletes at St. Thomas University.
