You will be provided with an exercise book for each topic (4 books in year 12 and 4 in year 13). You will need a book cover for each one.

What can parents to support students progress?

Check books are well presented and that feedback has been acted on. Discuss topical issues, encourage students to watch the news and read a newspaper. Look at revision plans and resources. Encourage students to take initiative to seek out help, both in school and out, from teachers, peers and online. when required. Ensure students prepare for end of unit tests. Ensure time is well balanced and students are taking interest in hobbies or activities beyond the curriculum. Monitor progress via Go4Schools Encourage students to follow 5 step revision plan

Teachers will direct students to appropriate websites throughout the course. BBC Bitesize may prove useful for giving students a grounding in topics they have not studied at GCSE.

Extra Curricular Opportunities

Compulsory field trips to Manchester (November of year 12) and Dorset (October of year 13). Optional trip to Iceland or Italy (alternating each year)
