English Literature

English Language focuses on students’ ability to read and respond to different texts. They will be asked to write analytically about different pieces of writing and also to use ideas found in these texts to write their own fiction and non-fiction texts.

English Literature asks students to respond to unseen poetry and texts that they have studied in class, for example ‘Romeo and Juliet’, ‘Great Expectations’ and poetry surrounding the theme of conflict or relationships.
