General Supplies Rotary cutting mat – medium size 6 x 24 rotary ruler Rotary cutter and new (sharp) blades Small scissors Seam ripper Sewing machine in good working order with a ¼-inch foot Size 70 sharp sewing needles High quality cotton thread (poor quality thread will often break when removing the paper) Paper Piecing Supplies 12-inch add-a-quarter ruler Template plastic (about 3” x 12” will be sufficient). Box of Jumbo Paper Clip Scotch tape Repositioning tape (optional -- 3 M product – used to piece a pattern that has been inadvertently cut or torn) Wash out fabric glue (be SURE it will wash out) Flower pins – I usually prefer the thinner ones over the fatter ones. They are usually found on the left side of the page with the pattern. I always print out the corrected pages AND I make a note on my master pattern to remind me that there are corrections in a specific area. Getting Started Label each of the five 1-gallon Ziploc bags with a permanent marker: Bali Wedding Star Bag #1, Bali Wedding Star Bag #2, etc., etc., etc. Each bag will eventually contain a separate step of the process and will be worked on in that order.
