”I REMEMBER” Thousands of voices recreating a hundred years of history

Taking reader-participation journalism to the next level The launch “I remember” was launched in September 2016, coinciding with Gothenburg Book Fair. The project invites the public to write history by sharing their memories in short fragments.

An extensive web campaign SvD.se Editorial selections of memories according to theme and time period have become a much read and shared feature on Svenska Dagbladet’s web site.

Endorsements from leading cultural voices Submissions Thousands of memories have been collected online and through postal letters from the public. One-on-one interviews have also been conducted with some of the oldest people living in Sweden. Authors and artists who have endorsed “I remember” by submitting memories include Horace Engdahl, Therese Bohman, David Lagercrantz, Jens Lapidus, Klas Östergren, Karin Broos, Theodor Kallifatides, Emerich Roth and many more.
