107TH SHOW HORSE SECTION 27 & 28 JANUARY 2018

CONDITIONS Each exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at all times and shall be liable for any hazards created, or illness or damage caused by the action of themselves or their animals at the show grounds. A Yellow Card will be issued, in cases of offences in respect of abuse of animals or inappropriate behaviour as per the RAS Constitution and the RAS Rules & Regulations/Bylaws including the Equestrian Rulebook, the RAS affiliated Show/Event/registered Measuring Stand and their grounds and their duly appointed delegates may deliver to the Person Responsible a Yellow Warning Card (either immediately or within 10 days of the show) which suspends any penalty until possible new offences. Full wording of the ‘Yellow Card’ system is available to view on the RAS website – www.ras.org.nz. 2. Forbidden Substance - The Rules of the Royal A&P Society New Zealand in regard to Forbidden Substances apply. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the Show/Event and that testing of all animals is at the person responsible’s risk. The principle behind the process is to deal with the matter as it comes to hand and in most cases it should be dealt with directly by the show. If the matter is in regards to an RAS official, the show may request the assistance of RAS Head Office as to how to deal with this in an appropriate manner. 5. Even if there is a sponsor the following policy will apply to all flat classes, 1 entry – no class, 2-3 entries 1st prize only, 4-5 1st and 2nd prizes and 6 or more full prize money. SHOWING CLASSES – SATURDAY PLEASURE PONIES & HORSES

Horse of the Year Qualifier

All Pleasure Classes will be run under NZ Equestrian Pleasure Society Rules (NZEPS). They are open to both NZEPS registered riders and horses/ponies as well as to unregistered riders and horses/ ponies. However, only riders and horses/ponies that are registered with NZEPS prior to 31 January 2016 can use this show as a Horse of the Year Show qualifier. Plaiting is optional but recommended. Riding Jacket or pony club uniform also recommended. Snaffle bridle only, no spurs, no drop nosebands and whips must be shorter than 76cm. Please refer to the NZEPS website for more information https://nzequestrianpleasure.files.wordpress.com. Pleasure Horse/Pony means those animals who do not fit the mold of a Show Horse/Pony. We welcome any breed (e.g. Appaloosas, Quarter Horses, Standardbreds, Clyde X) and colour. They should be an uncomplicated and genuine pleasure to ride. Whilst they do not possess the show quality conformation of a show horse, they should in their own way be a delight to ride, with impeccable manners. A “pleasure mount” is NOT an inexperienced mount with show quality conformation who is destined for the open show ring. Riders 16 years and under who are riding a horse must compete in the adult ring. Combinations may be on a lead rein, but cannot qualify for Horse of the Year.
