Vestry Minutes October 18, 2015 Vestry members Present: Harvey Leist, Scott Farmer, Janet Webster, Bob Stauffer, Danielle Bland, Jacquie Graham, Kelly Stalvey Vestry member Absent: Lisa Priest Congregation member present: Mary Stuart Cosby The vestry meeting opened with a prayer. The minutes were read. Bob Stauffer motioned we accept the minutes and Scott Farmer seconded the motion. The motion carried. A thank you note from Irma Pillsbury for buying her print for Father Rob was passed around to the vestry. Items of discussion were:
Janet Webster will prepare a finance report concerning salary and benefits for a new priest to be given to the search committee. The diocese minimum for a priest is $55,000 a year plus amenities which could include moving expenses, cell phone, insurance etc. The search committee will consider all factors. Time line for the search for a new priest is: Complete parish profile first draft by November 6 Vestry defines package to be offered by November 6 Parish has two weeks to review (i.e. – through November 20) Final draft submitted to Jonathan December 1 Expect Diocese to advertise our call first or second week of January Review candidates by end of February/first of March Call priest immediately following Easter

December 13, 2015 will be the annual meeting. There will be no pot luck. Jenny Stalvey has agreed to do the church sign weekly There was no Fall Clean Up Day Joel Hagen has volunteered to coordinate Thanksgiving baskets Jacquie Graham and Janet Webster will coordinate Advent Wreaths on November 29, 2015 Christmas Pageant will be at 7 pm on St. Thomas Day –December 21, 2015 (Monday) Christmas Eve service will be at 8:00 pm with Deborah Hunley Jr. Warden, Scott Farmer, reported that the roof repair may possibly be this week with the warm weather. Jacquie Graham is contacting the elevator company for the inspection.
Three new vestry members are needed for the 2016 Vestry. Cindy Stone will chair Parish Life. Vestry is asking Jane Carper to co-chair. Vestry will write “thank-you “notes to the congregation on November 4, 2015 at 6:00 pm Janet Webster is making announcements about stewardship in November. Janet would like pledge cards to be returned by November 22, 2015. The budget will be finalized by November 29, 2015.

Addendum to minutes:
Danielle Bland provided the following motion: With the vestry's approval, I would like to make a move on giving Harvey a gift card to be used for his travels to D.C. If it is agreeable with everyone, I would purchase a gift card for Harvey in the amount of $300. According to a conversation between Gail & Jacquie, the diocese has received a discount rate on hotel rooms, but that will not include expenses such as gas, and meals. If it is agreeable with everyone, I will purchase this card, so we can present it to him Sunday. I have purchased a "thank you" card that we all can sign and present to him. I will turn in the receipt for the gift card to Kelly Rorrer to be reimbursed.
It was suggested that this be paid from Contingency which should have more than sufficient funds after the roof painting expense of $11,000. Janet Webster Seconded the motion. Votes for/against were gathered via e-mail with Yeah votes from Janet, Danielle, Bob, Kelly, Jacquie, and Scott. There were no Nay votes and the motion carries.
Kelly Rorrer. Please expect a receipt from Danielle Bland for $300 for a gift card. Per the above motion, this expense has been approved with reimbursement to be paid from Contingency.
