Lake Level Report for the Month of December 2016
The average elevation of Upper Silvis Lake is 46.2 feet below spill, making Upper Silvis about 53% of capacity. Silvis Powerhouse produced 691,933 kWH of net energy this last month. This compares to 1,12 1,926 kWH in December oflast year. The average elevation of Lower Silvis Lake is 8.3 feet below spill or 67% capacity. Beaver Falls Powerhouse produced 2,471 ,930 kWH of net energy this last month. This compares to 3,452,395 kWH in
December of last year. Due to its size, elevation and location, Whitman Lake has a relatively fast drafting/fi lling cycle time. As such, average monthly elevation for Whitman Lake is less meaningfu l as a tracking metric. However, monthly generation remains a good metric to track for this project. Whitman Powerhouse produced 399,618 kWH of net energy this last month compared to 645,633 kWH in December oflast year. The average elevation of Swan Lake is 14.4 feet below spill. SEAPA purchased power was 13,576,832 kWH of net energy this last month. This compares to 10,612,064 kWH of purchased power received in
December of last year. The average elevation of Ketchikan Lake is 9 feet below spill and the Ketchikan Powerhouse produced 1,836,965 kWH of net energy. This compares to 2,046,892 kWH of net energy in December oflast year. Net diesel generation during this last month was 159,236 kWH. This compares to -1 53,640 kWH in December of last year. (Negative number reflects use for station power, not billable). System peak was 31,900 kW. Ketchikan Public Utilities owned generation facilities produced 5,559,682 kWH of net energy this last month. This was 29% of last month's required energy. Total System Net Generation last month, including purchased power, was 19,136,514. This compares to 17,725,270 kWH in December oflast year, and represents an increase of 1,411 ,244 kWH. AD:kjh
