Guided by the Word of God, led by the Holy Spirit, and motivated by the love of Christ and all his people, United Presbyterian Church, an intergenerational community, celebrates God’s glory by fostering Christian growth. Therefore, we value: 

resolutions, please consider how the church can be a The coming of a New Year always bring resolutions and commitments to live healthier and more meaningful lives. I think it is a deeply

beautiful part of our year: to contemplate our past year, to decide to pursue new things, to hope to become better. Of course, we all know that often our resolutions for the New Year begin to slip farther and farther from our finger tips as the months sneak on towards the next round of New Year’s resolutions. Usually, my New Year’s resolutions involve healthy living and exercise. This year, for Christmas, I got a Fitbit so that I can better track my goals and understand the patterns of my healthy and not so healthy lifestyle. I’m excited to use it as a support

sincere part of your 2019 commitments for a better, more whole way of life. We will need all hands, feet, and hearts on deck once our building project is completed…I am eager to see how we can create deeper vision and mission for UPC in 2019 and impact the neighborhood and the community. How do you think United Presbyterian should be a light in the world? What are the church’s 2019 priorities? What are the specific priorities for Presbyterian Women, Men of the Church, Sunday school, youth, worship, young adults, mission, and fellowship…? However you serve the church, resolve to be a part of creating a Christ-centered, love-centered, service-oriented vision of United Presbyterian Church in 2019!

Update United in Faith 2

When we started our second capital campaign in October, we set a goal of $500,000 and we’ve already received pledges totaling $320,080. Of those pledges, over $71,374 has been given. Thank you to all who’ve committed to the beautiful building we’re enjoying at UPC. For those who have yet to get involved, we hope you’ll see the value of the new commons area, as well as the renovations to the existing building, and make a financial commitment to UIF2. God has answered our prayers for the sale of the old authentic life building on I-30. We realized $257,453.29 from the sale and have applied that amount to the principal of our loan at Access Bank, Denton. Authentic Life Fellowship Church will continue to pay us $1500 per month for the next 20 years and these payments will help with our mortgage loan payments. Please be in prayer about your role in the life of our church as we go forward. Whether it be with your time, your talents, or your resources, you can make a difference as we reach out into our community. If you have questions about the campaign, please don’t hesitate to ask me. We want everyone to know and understand the process and the facts of the project as we move toward completion in the very near future. In the meantime, enjoy our new building…and be sure to tell others about it and invite them to come to UPC! Bob Mudie

The College and Young Adult Ministry at United Presbyterian Church cordially invites you to come to The Table on Tuesday, February 12th and February28th at 6:30pm. In our first series, we will dive into the theme of STORY: Your Story and a bigger Story.

RELAY FOR LIFE Thanks for saving all your spare change and donating to these worthy causes that we, as your youth, have voted to support.

PRAYER FAMILIES FOR DECMEBER Members and ongoing visitors are assigned, through their Care Group, a day of the week in which the church is invited to specifically include that family in their prayers that day. Elders will be calling the PFOD to ask about any specific prayer requests. Look for a letter informing you about your day! And let us join together in praying for our church family.

UPC Helping the Community United Presbyterian Church helped provide socks, scarves, mittens, and lap-ghans to Greenville residents on Dec. 17, 2019 at the Spirit of Giving annual event. It warmed our hearts and toes to be able to give back to the residents of Greenville. It was a blessing to have more of our church members participating in handing out the items this year. Thank you to all the UPC members who helped provide socks and other items to give away this year.

February Virginia Rutherford A New Year – a blank page, a clear space, a fresh start! As we fill in our appointments, line up our schedules, make important plans, we must remember that God ultimately controls our calendar. Each day we think we know what’s ahead—and often our routine holds to the same pattern. But when it doesn’t, we may feel disappointed, worried, or fearful of how quickly our lives can change in the course of a day. Our friend betrays us, the test results scare us, or our boss undermines our performance. So much can change in a matter of seconds But in his Word, God tells us that He’s the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Not only does He remain the only constant in an ever-changing world, but He also has a plan for our lives. We may not always be able to see what He’s up to, but we can rest in the security of knowing our future rests in our Father’s hands.

GREETERS & USHERS FOR February Rick & Gisela Grayson
