Introduction Objective: Provide simple, concise steps and examples to enable the configuration of a backup and restore application with a (OVERLAND STORAGE SNAPSERVER DX2). This integration guide was created as a companion to the Veeam Backup & Replication User Guide and assumes that Veeam Backup & Replication is already installed. This material will address (SnapServer DX2 WITH ISCSI AND NFS CONNECTIVITY).

Configuration Settings The configuration settings for this integration guide are as follows. We are using a single ESXi Server version 5 and also a vCenter server 5. The ESXi server has two Dualcore Intel Xeon 5130 2.0 GHz processors and 16 GB of RAM. The vCenter Server is a standalone Dual-core 2.0 GHz processor with 16 GB of RAM. We are also using a physical server as the Veeam Backup and Replication Server. This server is running Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Server 64 bit version. There is also a CentOS 5.7 virtual server as a virtual machine for the NFS Mount Repository being used. The Overland Storage SnapServer DX2 is connected via iSCSI and NFS is used as the primary disk storage.

Configuration Overview In the diagram below we are showing the ESXi server with Virtual Machines (VM) attached with some direct storage from the ESXi host. We are using a physical server. with Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit version as the Veeam Backup and Replication server. The Overland Storage SnapServer DX2 with a configured backup LUN used as the primary target for the Veeam Backup software. We will also show how you can attach to an Overland Storage SnapServer DX2 using it as a NAS share.
