The goal achievement path will start to close the gap between what you want, and what you are achieving. This starts with the end in mind. Think FROM a year from now, and the person you can be once you’ve achieved your goal. Imagine the individual that has achieved what you want to achieve and think like them. Here’s why S.M.A.R.T. goals are stupid:
S.M.A.R.T. goals are NOT effective. There are major problems with the words “realistic” and “achievable” in your vocabulary when you are stuck in your current paradigm. If you think like this, you’ll always be limited by your current conditioning. Instead, you should be taking massive action on what you want. You need to believe in a transformation outcome that creates freedom in your life. This will allow you to create breakthroughs. No more S.M.A.R.T. goals! Get out of that paradigm.

Instead, focus FROM the person you are looking to become—the person that believes they can create something meaningful in their lives.
The gap formula is about goal achievement. Here is the formula: 1. IDEA Focus on the core foundations that allow you to live your dream. What do you want? It should align with your life vision, values and mission. 2. IMMEDIATE Action Take immediate action towards what you are thinking about doing. When an idea comes to your mind, go immediately take action. What you’ll find is that you feel amazing afterwards. Eliminate the tomorrow, and build forward momentum. 3. IMMERSION Once you take action, immerse yourself in the experience. Capture the energy, emotion and enthusiasm and write it down. Even if it’s just one word. How did you feel?

Get clear, and immerse yourself in the emotions of the result. 4. INFUSE Infuse it into your mind through getting active. Actively get into your brain and lock it in so it becomes a part of you. Do this through repetition and meditation on your vision. 5. INSTITUTE Institute a clear plan of action to continue to build upon those results and create a success snowball. You’ll be able to consistently achieve growth. These five steps will allow you to close the achievement gap once and for all.
