Holy Week is a special time of the year in the life of a follower of Jesus Christ when we survey the Wondrous Cross. It brings me to a sense of humility when I realize that Jesus was beaten so badly because that is what it took to pay for my sins. The prophet Isaiah proclaimed many years before Jesus came to earth, “he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all.” The New Testament proclaims, “God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”
This Sunday’s Sermons~
Everyone has a reaction to Jesus. He causes division between many people including couples, families, communities, and even countries. What is your reaction to Jesus and His death? There are implications to your choice if He is the Son of God and died on The Cross to take away not just the sins of people on the earth, but specifically your sin. It is your choice as Jesus will never force you to follow Him. You can be made alive with Jesus when He forgives your sin as you call on Him. You cannot call Him Lord except by the Holy Spirit's drawing you! Easter is the best time of the year to admit that your sins nailed Jesus to The Cross.
I can think of no better time to come clean with Jesus. By faith we choose to walk away from our pride and the life of sin so that we can walk into the arms of Jesus who loves us. The Good News of The Gospel is that Jesus will forgive your sin. Repent and let Jesus turn your sorrow into joy. Joy comes in the morning of Easter because Jesus came out of the grave. He is risen, indeed! He’s alive!!! As we make a joyful noise unto the Lord and praise Him for His victory, I know the best is yet to come!
